Origins
[edit]This "railway" is surely the Sheffield and Midland Railway Companies' Committee renamed, which happened round about the time that the lines in South Yorks were built? --Redrose64 (talk) 12:28, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- I cannot offer any evidence to support that other than I seem to remember some years ago reading in a Mac Hawkins "Then and Now" book on the Great Central that is was a merger and a re-naming of several TOC's LongRobin79(talk) 20:49, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
