[edit]According to http://www.bucknell.edu/msw3/browse.asp?id=12100108 Loris lydekkerianus nordicus is a synonym of Loris lydekkerianus grandis. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.228.23.185 (talk) 21:04, 2 June 2011 (UTC) the line "This is ideal for the species and because these animals are competing with humans over food they aren't not afraid of interaction" does not make grammatical sense, it is unclear whether they do or do not compete with humans. Please rectify.
- Corrected this as requested by consulting reference given. Loris Bennett (talk) 20:42, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
Photo
[edit]The photograph is not of the best quality and may appear a bit reddish due to aging. There seem to be some rather strange image removals by some editors. Knowing the background and provenance of that photograph, I find little chance of the Sri Lankan species turning up in southern India. Shyamal (talk) 16:50, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
- The strange image removals were due to the fact that the image was actually listed as the wrong species (now corrected). Although the caption did state that the photo was taken in Wynaad, I very much doubt that most people have any idea where it is, or indeed that it was meant to refer to the place of origin given the bare context. - Also, just noticed that Wynaad redirects to Wayanad district. Is the former a spelling mistake or a variant of the latter? If it's a variant, then that should be noted in the Wayanad district article. Sillyfolkboy (talk) (edits)Join WikiProject Athletics! 17:08, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
- I just noticed that the same image for this article is also being used for the Red Slender Loris article. 128.223.92.108 (talk) 22:11, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
- I just sent an email to Dr. Anna Nekaris (leading loris expert) since she is most likely to be able to properly identify it. Once I get a response, I will update the article appropriately. – VisionHolder « talk » 22:49, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- While we wait for her response, I check the ranges and the information from the photo's description, and if all that is correct, then it should be a gray slender loris. Also, the image is not being used on the red slender loris article as you say. So unless the image is mislabeled (and it's always good to ask an expert to be sure), everything should be fine... although the red slender loris seriously needs a new picture. – VisionHolder « talk » 22:59, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
