Brazil nuts
The article has a passage about Brazil nuts:
"The un-mixing or segregation of unlike grains under vibration and flow. An example of this is the so-called Brazil nut effect where Brazil nuts rise to the top of a packet of mixed nuts when shaken. The cause of this effect is that when shaken, granular (and some other) materials move in a circular pattern. some larger materials (Brazil nuts) get stuck while going down the circle and therefore stay on the top."
I believe, this is a typical example of people-are-bipedal-because-they-have-two-legs, i.e., tautology. The text should be modified to remove this explanation and/or a more information-loaded explanation for Brazil nuts effect has to be found. Lsalgo (talk) 13:22, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
Bad ISBN
Because it is causing a Checkwiki error #70: "ISBN with wrong length", I removed the ISBN from the entry:
Mester, L., The new physical-mechanical theory of granular materials. 2009, Homonnai, ISBN 96383-43-87
I have tried unsuccessfully to locate the correct ISBN on the Internet. I have sent an email to the author, requesting the valid ISBN. Knife-in-the-drawer (talk) 04:38, 17 May 2015 (UTC)
- The author sent the correct ISBN: 978-963-8343-87-1 Knife-in-the-drawer (talk) 10:51, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
