[edit]1. Grant writing, or grantsmanship, is not just about requests for aid to help in research. It is a general term. The requests are done for all manner of projects. The proposals are written for child care centers and animal shelters. The proposals request assistance for advocacy programs, to help schools and hospitals, museums and service programs.
2. The major source for research aid in the US may be government and corporations. But aid can also come from foundations and individuals.
