why is my info being deleted
[edit]all info i have entered is accurate and true with sources and photos to show changes to Grants High School over the years. the info currently on the date when the school is inaccurate. The school was founded in 1929 not 1920. The School was originally called Grants Union High School, and moved in 1956 to its current location. I am an Alumni of Grants High School. Do I have to create a whole new page for Grants High school in order for my info to stay? the majority of our info comes from the Cibola County Historical Society https://www.facebook.com/CibolaCountyHistoricalSociety/. - You did not reference the content using any reliable sources. Dorsetonian (talk) 23:05, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- So you are telling me that my sources are not reliable. Apperently you never went to Grants Union High School or Grants High School or you would know the info is reliable. Every photo and informantion I have entered is from reliable sources. if You want to verify my content feel free to check out the Cibola County Historical Society https://www.facebook.com/CibolaCountyHistoricalSociety/. and for additional you may feel free to Contact LaJean Greeson on Facebook.
- Whoever entered the date of 1920 is not accurate and i have the photos of the dedication showing 1929 which is what i was getting ready to add to the page and it got reverted before i could add it.
- The Reversions of info is very frustrating, and would appreciate that the information to be entered be left alone. as the same with the photos. as for references to the info is from Yearbooks, Newpaper Clipping or articles from papers that existed during the time of the schools beginnings. - No, I did not go to the school and it does not matter whether I can verify what you are writing from my personal knowledge, or from asking someone else to "vouch" for you - it has to be verifiable from independent and reliable published sources.
- It appears you are researching and collating a fascinating and valuable history of the school - but it also appears the fundamental problem is that you are using Wikipedia as your publishing platform. That is original research and is not what Wikipedia is for.
- Also, you need to be very careful about copyright - I see you have uploaded as "your work" copies of pictures and publications which are clearly not your work and Wikipedia is not permitted to use.
- IMO, the best action you can take regarding this article is to help reliably source the information which is in it already. At the moment it is almost entirely unsourced and content will be removed if no reliable sources can be found. You assert the founding dates are not correct and you may be right - there is no evidence to support the dates that are here. However, replacing the dates without verifiable evidence would be no better. Better still would be establishing notability. There was a time that all secondary schools were presumed to be notable but that is no longer the case and, as things stand, I don't think this article comes close to showing that notability requirements are being met. Adding trivia about a tradition of painting a giant 75 on the stadium seating kind'a makes things worse in that respect. Dorsetonian (talk) 12:27, 16 June 2023 (UTC)
