[edit]The following observation was posted at the top of the article by Grnd1814 on 21 Jan 2012 - It actually belongs on this talk page:
- This page suggest that the Grand River Naval Depot was never completed (built). It was built though due to the Rush Bagot Treaty it never saw it full potential. It is believed that at it height it housed a couple hundred men and contained eithteen buildings. There are many site on Google if you search "Grand River Naval Depot." Though there may have been some very small part of the Depot where Esplanade Park in Port Maitland is today, it never stood there. The depot was on the opposite side of the Grand River in Sherbrooke Twp.
