Text and/or other creative content from this version of Dublin and South Eastern Railway was copied or moved into Grand Canal Street railway works with this edit. Some history which could be useful in expanding article:
- The D&K's original loco workshops, 1837. Named "Railway Coach Factory" on ordnance map, up side, old distillery site. Is this where nickname originated?
- Boiler shop, carriage shop, sawmill, down side
- The much later Barrow St. workshop, down side, track maintenance vehicles. This closed down in recent times, no date, and moved to Kildare

The origins of the site and the part played by its owner Aeneas Coffey in the development of the modern scotch whisky industry are interesting. So too, was the involvement of certain Dublin distillers/railway shareholders who provided the D&KR with a cash inducement to purchase it.Suckindiesel (talk) 18:43, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
