Question about the tone of the article

I think everyone can agree that slavery was evil, and that stories of the old South tend to romanticize or gloss over its effects. However, this article seems to go out of its way to editorialize about slavery rather than to tell the actual "ghost story." For example -- "It is not difficult for modern readers to imagine today how it was for the slaves as they listened to the music and laughter late into dark nights of a brutal existence. Perhaps they listened and compared the sound to the infernal music from a story of devils and demons." Not only is this ridiculous on its face (yes, it is pretty difficult to imagine how it was for slaves), but it is speculative and has no place in the story that is being told. 64.79.241.103 (talk) 15:12, 21 April 2014 (UTC)Karl W[reply]
