Well, well, well. Good to see the Grammy categories getting some love. I will be reviewing the article. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:15, 17 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your offer to review the article. I look forward to your comments! --Another Believer (Talk) 17:06, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Checklinks — Can you check it from here? Sources are fine, but one source is missing accessdate.
Added accessdate to "Lost Sounds" source. --Another Believer (Talk) 16:17, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
DABlinks — No dab links
Media is fine

  • for quality music videos --> for music videos will be enough
Done. --Another Believer (Talk) 16:17, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • the award is reserved for quality --> Its a dead award, so "the award was reserved for quality"
Done. --Another Believer (Talk) 16:17, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • for the participative video collection of puzzles and games known as The First National Kidisc --> You need to elaborate this
Doing... (based on this source). This appears to be a source within in a source--would you recommend a particular cite format? --Another Believer (Talk) 16:17, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I expanded on the video collection. I am not sure if the citation format is correct, but at least it presents as much information as possible. This is about as much as I can find on the Kidisc, but I am hoping that it is sufficient for this article. --Another Believer (Talk) 03:03, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think you should give an overview of the videos. You really are walking on a borderline here as there is practically nothing in the article. Either fill it up more, else I'm afraid this is becoming a redundant article and I would make suggestions for merging.

Is this sufficient coverage of the 1982 nominees? --Another Believer (Talk) 00:48, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nominees for the 25th Grammy Awards included Elton John for Visions: Elton John, Olivia Newton-John for Olivia Physical, the rock band The Tubes for The Tubes Video, The Tales of Hoffmanand by the Royal Opera conducted by Georges Prêtre with Plácido Domingo, and Fun and Games by various artists (produced by Margaret Murphy --> Again same here, elaborate on the videos.
Doing... --Another Believer (Talk) 16:17, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
After much searching, this is about as much detail as I can find about the nominated works. Unfortunately I cannot find much of anything on The Tubes Video or Fun and Games, and the recording of The Tales of Hoffman seems somewhat self-explanatory. --Another Believer (Talk) 00:48, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • as well as enough sexual innuendo to generate controversy --> What was the controversy? You need to explain
Doing... --Another Believer (Talk) 16:17, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps "controversy" is the wrong word. Newton-John just raised some eyebrows more or less, mostly because she left her "good girl" image. I added "provocation" to the sentence, but if you have a suggestion to replace "controversy" I am open to suggestions. --Another Believer (Talk) 06:00, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • The Video of the Year category was discontinued with the establishment of the MTV Video Music Awards in 1984 --> What was the reason? Did the NARAS feel threatened by MTV's popularity? Was the category being abused?
Doing... --Another Believer (Talk) 16:17, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot infer why the Academy discontinued the award category, and I have not yet found a source giving specific reasons. However, I will continue my search for an answer. In the meantime, I included the claim (with an accompanying reference) that the top award presented at the MTV Video Music Video Awards is also called "Video of the Year". Again, I will not state a specific reason for the category name change unless I find one, but this may allow readers to infer that it was done to avoid confusion. --Another Believer (Talk) 20:43, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • When you say about awards held in so-and-so year, why don't you wikilink that year to the particular Grammy Award article?
Done. --Another Believer (Talk) 16:17, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In retrspective, such a short article does not deserve article space, and I would have failed it, but just wanted to check if with the suggestions I gave, he can increase the amount of text and bulk up the article. On hold for two weeks for this. — Legolas (talk2me) 11:18, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I appreciate the amount of time to expand the article. I know its a short article, but I needed feedback for expansion and you provided just that. Much appreciated! --Another Believer (Talk) 16:17, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. I will help you pull this one through. Not many users expand the important articles like this and I see wonderful work from you in regards to the musical awards. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:20, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Kind words. While I am more than willing to do the work myself, assistance is always appreciated. FYI, I am also working on the articles for Best Concept Music Video and Best Performance Music Video currently, so if you happen to come across any helpful sites feel free to let me know! Thanks again! --Another Believer (Talk) 16:24, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm waiting for you to expand on the videos and the controversy. — Legolas (talk2me) 09:04, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, in the process now (had a busy past couple days). Are "official" videos like this appropriate for the External links section? --Another Believer (Talk) 04:54, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If its from the official recording company's account on YouTube, then fine. Just don't forget to use {{YouTube}}. — Legolas (talk2me) 17:04, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Added. --Another Believer (Talk) 00:48, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, so are you done? This is GA already. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:03, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot find much more to add, so unless you have any other concerns that need to be addressed I am done. --Another Believer (Talk) 04:42, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am extremely impressed with whatever that you have done. This is some serious good work dude. I'm happy to pass this as GA. Congrats. And feel free to ask me for any help whenever you face problems with these articles. Hoping to see good work from you in the future. Keep in touch. :) — Legolas (talk2me) 10:50, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your kind words! --Another Believer (Talk) 16:05, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
