Name Change
[edit]Grameen Foundation USA is in the process of changing its name to Grameen Foundation. In the coming month, if there are no objections, I will replace this disambiguation page with the current Grameen Foundation USA entry and redirect to here from Grameen Foudation USA and GFUSA. --—Preceding unsigned comment added by Mmechenbier (talk • contribs) 31 May 2006
- I saw this a bit late... but the article should be moved back to Grameen Foundation USA. It is not a international organization, and using just "Grameen Foundation" can cause confusion with other organizations called "Grameen Foundation", such as Grameen Foundation Australia. Cheers, --Chriswaterguy talk 02:17, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- The aforementioned name change is in effect. No one calls it Grameen Foundation USA anymore, and there is no ambiguity with other organizations based elsewhere which prompts the "USA" moniker suffix. In short, there is no reason to not drop it. --JosefAssad 15:31, 6 July 2007 (UTC) JosefAssad
I propose changing the article title and internal references to "Grameen Foundation (USA)"t to distinguish it from other Grameen Foundations. One organization having a name with no modifier and others having the same name with a modifier definitely creates ambiguity since it is not clear that the one the with unmodified name is not the parent organization. Appending a disambiguating "(USA)" will help communicate that the organizations are unrelated. Jojalozzo 19:21, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
The legal name is still Grameen Foundation USA. It uses Grameen Foundation is non-legal material. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GrameenFdn (talk • contribs) 14:22, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
Appropriate External Links
[edit]Seems a little strange to have the CEO's personal blog about runnning as a link on this page. Maybe on his personal Wikipedia page, but not the organizations... Any comments? I might remove if I don't get any objections. - Acq3 (talk) 00:18, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Grameen-Jameel Headquarters
[edit]Is Grameen-Jameel still HQ'ed in Beirut? Thought that would be Dubai by now. I'll change it unless someone from the org. itself objects, in which case they can just change it back. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JosefAssad (talk • contribs) 18:23, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Current Projects
[edit]Would it be appropriate to add something like a "current projects" section with links to Mifos, Progress out of Poverty, Stop Poverty Now, etc.? If yes, should these links be added to an existing section? --Meonkeys (talk) 13:17, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Grameen Foundation Australia
[edit]It would be nice to have some independent and/or official informations about this so-called 'Foundation'. I found nothing except a website using pictures of Mohammed Yunus and some weak 'references' in wikis, Facebook and alikes. So far, it could be a scam. -- Xofc (talk) 08:34, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
COI, POV, need for sources other than the bank and it's employees
[edit]This is in response to recent contributions that are supported only by references to the bank's web site and a book published by the bank's founder. This suggests to me that there is possible bias and conflict of interest. I reverted these changes and have started this section for discussion if needed. Jojalozzo 00:12, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
