It seems that an obsessive special interest group has gone through this entry, adding the blogged views of David Colquhoun. I've taken them out because I don't think his blog stands up as good source for wikipedia - it's a blog, not a notable publication, and some of the assertions are merely gossip, not substantiated fact. People wanting to make points about the College of Medicine would be much better drawing from the BMJ as their source material - being careful however to quote the arguments that occurred there on both sides - e.g. http://www.bmj.com/content/343/bmj.d4364.extract and http://www.bmj.com/content/341/bmj.c6126.extract.

I've not added these myself as I'm far from convinced that they are an important point of interest in a still relatively short biography of Graeme Catto's long career. If someone begs to differ though, they ought to be quoting balanced well regarded sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.33.29.104 (talk) 15:13, 24 August 2011 (UTC) (78.33.29.104 (talk) 15:16, 24 August 2011 (UTC)).[reply]

You'll note that the text you removed also relied on a Guardian article and your second BMJ link as sources, Colquhoun's blog was not the sole source material. The College of Medicine is controversial, as evidenced by these sources, and any mention of Catto's appointment should address this, per notability. Colquhoun also appears to have addressed his concerns in a letter to the BMJ, which would seem to satisfy your criteria for sources. Randomnonsense (talk) 02:07, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for restoring that information, Randomnonsense. I hadn't noticed it had been (spuriously) removed. Famousdog (talk) 09:47, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
