Last paragraph
[edit]I'm removing the last paragraph as it was lifted verbatim from http://www.neumont.edu/public/about/grady_booch.htm. Fikus 21:56, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Photo
[edit]There's a photo of Grady Booch at http://www.developer.com/java/other/article.php/607781 . More precisely, it is at http://www.developer.com/ew_img/common/content/article/19990112/gm_booch/booch.gif
Actually, I find an even better photo of Grady Booch at http://www-306.ibm.com/software/rational/bios/booch.html . And the URL for the photo, itself, is http://www-306.ibm.com/software/rational/bios/img/booch04.jpg . Now as to the question of gaining permission to use either one of these, I wouldn't even know the protocols. But I have moved the ball this far down the field. There are two photos of the man. I would recommend using the second of these two assuming that permission can be obtained.

ADA at the DOD
[edit]The article doesn't mention that Grady worked at the DOD in the capacity of collecting chances for the preliminary ADA language specifications. How do I know? Because I reported a flaw in the ADA language to DOD and the person that ended up handling the issue turned out to be Grady Booch. I don't know for sure, but I think he was in the military at the time. 99.27.202.167 (talk) 20:57, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Earned his Bachelor's degree at US Air Force in 1977. So I would expect he was a junior office in the Air Force from 1977 to 1981. - I cam to talk page to point thios out an recommend if ever found out add a sentence as to what type work he did while on active duty. 24.245.105.83 (talk) 12:22, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

Merge Proposal
[edit]I propose merging Booch method into the section Grady Booch#Booch method. The content is already close to identical and the original page has a number of issues that suggest the main source of notability is the fact that Booch contributed the method's ideas to other methods (as laid out here). The article practically only references publications by Booch. I'm not super familiar with Wikipedia's guidelines for notability but would suggest that this does not fall under it (but a redirect to the section in this article would make sense in my opinion).
