@Bigbuck stag: Greetings! Nice start but a few pieces of advice:
Untitled
[edit]- There are no references either to establish notability or just to support facts. This is a pretty big problem and needs to be fixed before this can be moved.
- You need to work on adding links and generally using wiki-markup. You've gone through some trouble to make the table of contents but please don't worry about this. When you use correct headings (using "== heading ==") the software will create a table of contents for you automatically.
- There seem to be remaining issues with the tone of the article which doesn't really read to me like an encyclopedia article. In some ways, it seems too well written! Remember to write from an neutral point of view.
- Remember that you need to make technical articles understandable which means writing this for a general audience.
You should put the first two to rest before you move to the sandbox. This will take some work so please keep working on this! —mako๛ 22:39, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi! I just reviewed your article and I think you should work on references. I added headings and subheadings but I'm not sure if I divided them right! Good Luck!Eunicejl319 (talk) 03:35, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Bigbuck stag: I agree with Eunicejl319. You only have one reference and it's a primary source which can be useful for establishing facts not is not ideal. Can you include references from other secondary sources (e.g., encyclopedias of Tolkien, etc.)? Other than that, I think the article is really in quite good shape. —mako๛ 15:52, 6 November 2015 (UTC)
@Bigbuck stag: Hi! I went through your article and thought it was very informative and thorough in terms of what it intends to describe! Though I'm not a Lord of the Rings fan, I can still appreciate the detail you went into in describing Gothmog. Some of the things I liked:
- Bulleted list item You went through the trouble of listing the exact pages for some of your references.
- Bulleted list item Your headings and titles were clear and well-organized.
- Bulleted list item The article in general was tidy and easy to navigate.
My only piece of advice to you would be to add a picture! I know it isn't necessary to do so, but I think it would definitely make your article cooler with the extra graphics. I know enough about Lord of the Rings to know that Gothmog is only in the books, so I would suggest finding some fan art and requesting the artist's permission to use it (this is something I've seen frequently in character pages on Wikipedia for Game of Thrones where the character has never been casted on the show and/or has been dead before the start of the show). Other than that, I think your article is pretty encyclopedic and neutral. Good job! --Aylakad (talk) 12:54, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
