OTO and Weor's practice of sex magic is in no way predicated on the Gospel of Eve. The fact that they call themselves Gnostic doesn't make their mention here appropriate .
Language
[edit]- Do we know in what language the composition original was written? If so, what was it?
- In what language is did Epiphanius quote this composition?

- Epiphanius wrote his book in Greek. I haven't been able to confirm that the quote itself was in Greek, but it would surprise me a lot if Epiphanius wrote his book in Greek but included the quote in Latin. There's a modern translation of the work by Epiphanius online, but I can't speak to its copyright status: [1]. The link will take you to section 26 of Panarion. Scroll down to 2:6 and 3:1, and you'll find the whole quote from the "Gospel of Eve." That's literally all that left of it. Epiphanius makes no mention of the original language of composition, but I'd imagine a strong default presumption that it's Greek. So far all the sources I've found only mention the Gospel of Eve for a sentence or two, so they don't go into any depth about its original language or anything like that.
