[edit]Gorlois = Cornwall?
Vowels change easily, only consonants have permanence
Gorlois = G.R.L.(s)
Cornwall = C.R.N.L
Perhaps the N was dropped
- Mere speculation, does not accord with the known etymology of "Cornwall" of which the older form is "Kernow", Latin "Cornubia", and cognate with "Cornovii".--Felix folio secundus 08:54, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Gorlois and Le Morte
[edit]I know that other Arthurian sources state the duke's name as Gorlois but I've noticed the few editions of "Le Morte" that I've checked don't provide him with any name in particular. He is simply referred to as the Duke of Cornwall or the Duke of Tintagel. Not that it would have any affect on the article, but I was wondering if Malory does in fact name him somewhere and I simply overlooked it. 209.193.46.5 (talk) 19:43, 11 March 2015 (UTC)
