Supposed copvio

[edit]

Looks to me like the copied para was in this article before the program not was written - so if anythign the violation is the other way round. Proposing speedy deletion when only two paras are in dispute seems a little draconian in any case. David Underdown (talk) 11:38, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-sequitur?

[edit]

Re: "Not all contemporary listeners found his music too conservative or melodic: 'Foul music by Gordon Jacob just over, in which the pianist stamped on, kicked, butted, thumped and finally threw out of the window the long-suffering piano.' "

For now I'm going to delete this passage. It can return--possibly--if it returns in a manner that clearly explains in the text of the article itself who is quoted and what the quote has to do with the context. TheScotch (talk) 09:10, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article has a single reference - important composer, we can do much better

[edit]

Editors may seek out Dr. Geoff Ogram, who has a forthcoming book on this composer. There is another reference (out of print, but in libraries for some editors certainly) by Eric Wetherell, entitled Gordon Jacob – a Centenary Biography published by Thames Publishing. There is a good deal of web articles and reviews out there. The current article also expresses opinions that may be correct, but cannot be confirmed, and stray into Original Research territory. I've tagged the article until these issues are addressed.104.169.28.48 (talk) 21:54, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
