"When the Ghost Dog Howls"

Maybe this is explained in #11 or something, but... WTF is this? [1] It's a book under the HorrorLand umbrella title called "When the Ghost Dog Howls." January 1st, 2010. Is it a 13th book? A new series? HorrorLand-era Give Yourself Goosebumps? 86.141.136.81 (talk) 15:48, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

I checked on International Rights, and found something interesting... Goosebumps HorrorLand won't be ending with volume 12. The description for these next books is as follows:

"Take a little Horror home with you!

Each eerie adventure of the next seven-book arc begins with a trip to the Chiller House, a gift shop only found in HorrorLand. Kids are invited to take a little horror home with them and given a souvenir and a miniature Horror. At home, the kids experience wild things with their free gift, while the glowing, menacing Horror keeps an eye on the fun. When it's time for their payment, the Horror takes them back to shopkeeper Jonathan Chiller."

"When The Ghost Dog Howls" is the first of these seven, and the second is "Little Shop of Hampsters" (which is probably a misspelling), due out in March of next year. And from the looks of it, we're getting further installments of the "Classic Goosebumps" series with them, with "Welcome to Dead House" and "Welcome to Camp Nightmare" as the first two. That... doesn't sound as good as the present arc. I guess it's Goosebumps, though. If they want to keep up with new stories, then HorrorLand is the present "series," and needs to be tied in in some way. Actually, one interesting thing is that it's HorrorLand in reverse - they start off in HorrorLand and then there's a new story back at their homes! Thanks! The page links for the two new HorrorLand books I could've sworn weren't there when I first looked on International Rights earlier. But maybe they were. Oh well. This new arc doesn't look like HorrorLand is much more than a framing device and there's no central story, but you never know - my guess would be that if there is a real ongoing story, it'll just be #7 that is set solely in HorrorLand. New style of entries

I was trying to figure out how to reorganize things somewhat so we didn't have so many lengthy lists of notes for each book, when it hit me. And then I came up with this.

At least one (and possibly two) further row(s) WILL be added for a couple of other things, including the villains (new and classic) and Very Special Guests.

Ooh, nice use of table. I like that very much. My only suggestion is dropping the thumb| tag from the image. Thumbnail in a table doesn't look as good. --DarkfireTaimatsu (talk) 21:47, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Who's Ned?

Who's Ned? From which book(s) did he appear?   The Watch Dude 

Ned is a Horror, a rather old-looking one. He appears first in book 6, wherein he gives a speech to the Very Special Guests in Vampire Village. He also appears in book 9, where he returns the kids caught in the tentacles to HorrorLand and ushers them onto the bus. --DarkfireTaimatsu (talk) 03:04, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

New R.L. interview mentions Little Shop Of Hamsters

The interview is here, but the relevant part is this: "Right now I have a great title that I love. It’s called Little Shop of Hamsters. It’s a good title but I cannot come up with a story. I’ve done five outlines for this title and my editors hate them all. I’m beginning to think maybe hamsters aren’t scary." Maybe he should've figured this out during Monster Blood II? This may explain why early synopses for the HorrorLand books were largely somewhat inaccurate, with characters going to HorrorLand who didn't or even whole plotlines changed, like for #4 and #5 - the outline didn't work and got changed to something else. 86.141.136.81 (talk) 11:41, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Probably; I'm pretty sure it's out, right? At least, in America, where the books have tended to come out earlier than advertised anyway. The release date is a month away in the U.K. I've been avoiding Goosebumps-related places so as not to be spoiled. 86.177.44.79 (talk) 21:13, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Map #12

Just curious. The tables for #12 contain information which I don't think we should be able to know unless EnterHorrorLand Map #12 was open - which it is, sure, but it's broken, and you can't play anything. Also, the twelfth token looks gold on my copy of the book, and it seems like it should be grey on EnterHorrorLand. Which brings me to my next point: Should the "Featured HorrorLand area" be altered so that it clearly refers to the EnterHorrorLand area, as corresponding to the map in the books? Because the actual plot of the books doesn't always take our heroes through these new areas, especially in the last book.86.177.42.247 (talk) 13:37, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Cover Images

Okay, we've just had the cover image sections removed due to alleged "overuse" of non-free images. Perhaps someone could create a 3x4 montage - low-resolution - of all twelve covers that we could use as a lead image? I believe this would satisfy Wikipedia's concerns on the matter.
