The Goon Show has been a cultural phenomenon since it was on the BBC in the 1950s.
Have you ever heard of Monty Python, the Beatles, or any famous British actors or comedians?
The Pythons, the Beatles, and countless others of creative note, including many Americans,
idolize and/or were brought up
on the groundbreaking absurdist style of humor
pioneered by the Goon Show.
The GSPS is a real organization of long standing,
it has hosted many famous guests at its conventions,
it publishes a newsletter,
and it has a web site.
