Conservative/DUP Coalition

I've been hearing that the incoming Tory/DUP coalition UK government in some way violates the Good Friday Agreement. I don't have any sources for this claim yet, but there's a bit of chatter on Twitter. Worth keeping an eye on. -mattbuck (Talk) 23:20, 9 June 2017 (UTC)

As far as I can see it is in Sinn Féin's interest as well - including Sinn Féin abstaining - so that the problem about the border is dealt with properly by the government in the Brexit negotiations. So I don't think they'll object very hard if at all. Dmcq (talk) 09:14, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

Might I just add that I seem to have been an eejit writing that. The DUP are more interested in sticking one in the eye to nationalists than anything about the good of Northern Ireland. Dmcq (talk) 09:41, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Current effects of the Good Friday Agreement

I think this page needs more emphasis on the Good Friday Agreement's effect on Brexit in terms of moving towards reunification. Brexit debates often discuss where a hard border should be implemented. Republic of Ireland

The article on the state is at Republic of Ireland after A LOT of discussion over the years and on matters relating to north clarity between the state and the island is needed more than just about anywhere else. Timrollpickering (Talk) 13:40, 29 April 2020 (UTC)

Loyalist withdrawal
