I removed the "External Links" sections, as they had nothing to do with the episode.--68.170.86.111 02:12, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Flag of Soviet Union?

[edit]

Actually, couldn't the flag be that of the Communist Party of China, rather than the USSR? --Soman 11:06, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting thought...it is the same symbol, and it would make more sense, being China and all. You're probably right. Oh, by the way, here's a picture of the inside of the tomb, and there clearly isn't a hammer and sickle symbol on the sheet. It's some kind of striped design. --VolatileChemical 00:45, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

??? There is obviously a hammer n sickle on the flag of the image. Just you just see half of it from the camer angle. --Soman 15:43, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The USSR is not the only flag with a hammer and sickle on it —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.132.127.219 (talk) 19:42, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Heart rip scene

[edit]

I noticed that in one scene, one of the monks rips Homer's heart clear out of his chest. I thought this was a reference to Mortal Kombat, but I'm not sure. Can anyone say where it came from? Sonicrazy 00:33, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is usually considered a reference to the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984, predating Mortal Kombat). It has probably been done in other movies and has certainly been parodied many more times. Try List of films by gory death scene for stuff like this. — edgarde 01:11, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
the terminator does it, although he didnt have the courtesy to put it back in.

Lawrence Talbot

[edit]

Anyone know why Dana Gould used the pseudonym Lawrence Talbot when this first aired? It might be worth nothing in the main entry if it's something significant or interesting.

Shouldn't there be some mention of the drawing tutorial at the end?

[edit]

What he said.
