This is a Chinese name. Gongzizhen(1782.8.22-1841.9.26), whose given name is" Hong zu" and who styled himself as" Ding an"," Gong zuo" and" Yushanmin" is from Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. Gong was born in a scholar-gentry family in which his forefathers are all officials. Gong's grandfather Gongjingshen and his father Gonglizheng are respectively metropolitan graduates in Qianlong and Jiaqing of Qing Dynasty. Gong's father is famous sinologist Duanyucai's pupil and son-in-law. Gong's mother Duanxun is good at handwriting and poetizing. Gong learnd poetizing with parents since childhood. Later he learnd philology tought by his grandfather. Gong rhymed and poetized when he was only fifteen, which showed his aptitude. Gong had active interest in politics and current affairs. When Linzexu was ordered to ban the opium in Guangdong Province, he advocated non-opium, firmly against the British invaders, showing a strong spirit of patriotism.
