Qualification
[edit]I know its early days of the qualification process but I was curious to see how this process would play out. Based on last weeks rankings, 34 countries would qualify with USA leading the way at 7 players (all in the Top 15). 21 countries hitting their max number of players. Lowest player qualified would be Ricardo Santos of Portugal at 294th. Just outside are Thomas Pieters (2nd BEL player) and Nicholas Fung of Malaysia. The three are 0.6185, 0.6158 and 0.6072 respectively. The host Brazilian, Adilson da Silva, is currently 275th with the next closest player at 649th.
I hope I've gotten the qualification standards correct as the three referenced articles are worded slightly different. Any thoughts on keeping at table of players who are qualified? I guess the easy option is wait until the games list is announced. --Coppercanuck (talk) 14:43, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
- Not quite, max of 4 per country even if in top-15, see added refs. The IGF will be keeping a list of who would qualify if qualification ended today - no reason to duplicate that list as it will change every week. Tewapack (talk) 17:53, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
- That's what I read in a couple of places but this site suggested otherwise. --Coppercanuck (talk) 23:51, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
Rankings
[edit]I know there was a question about visiting the ranking qualifications at this point in time. However, based on the fact that the rankings are published weekly and based on a two year period, I don't believe it's too early to publishing the qualification rankings. --Flyguy33 (talk) 16:30, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- If the rankings here aren't updated weekly, then they are useless. I see no reason to keep these tables here when they are readily available at the link site. Tewapack (talk) 16:22, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
