So many changes
[edit]The edit [1] brought so many changes to the page... Made by Future Perfect at Sunrise. So, he could teach us (me) about reasons for some changes of different types he made. I.e. some references were discarded completely, thrown away... Interesting. --Franta Oashi (talk) 04:42, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- I came across the page by pure chance, and noticed it was wildly at odds with the style guides at WP:DAB/WP:MOSDAB. In a nutshell, the rules I tried to follow are:
- Keep it as brief as possible – the purpose of the page is only a navigation aid, for a reader to pass through as quickly as possible
- No extraneous links – every entry line should contain exactly one link, to the target page being disambiguated
- Only closely matching target entries – only entries that are actually called "Golem" or "The Golem" should appear here. For instance, "The Emperor and the Golem" is not called simply "Golem", nor is "Feet of Clay (film)" or "Dungeon Master II: The Legend of Skullkeep" or "Enchanted Arms". Those might be movies or games featuring golems, so they might go into a "list of golems in popular culture" or something like that, but that's not what a disambiguation page is about.
- Hope this answers the question? -- Fut.Perf. ☼ 06:06, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for your introduction to disabm rules, I did not know.
- You deleted the Dungeonmaster, so in case I really would like to keep such link-reference, or the The Emperor and the Golem film, these should go to the page itself: Do I understand you well? --Franta Oashi (talk) 15:00, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- I think it is appropriate that Gollum should be featured more prominently, since disambiguation articles are meant for terms that could be confused with each other, and hence it is appropriate for integration into this page. --JBrown23 (talk) 14:06, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
