Information

[edit]

I have edited this article a lot the past days. To clarify your confusions:

  • Dear Sunil25125, This article is about the Road cum Rail Bridge. The second bridge that is mentioned in this article is the Havelock Bridge. I have added this to this article because a lot of people have confusions in these two bridges as these both are of the same type (Truss Bridge)
  • Dear Tabletop, all the three bridges crossing this section of the Godavari River are Single Track.
  • Dear Jklamo, This bridge was built by Sir Arthur Cotton. The construction completed in 1897/1900. Just after the opening of the bridge, he died.

I am creating two more articles. One about the Havelock Bridge (With the name of Old Godavari Bridge) and one about the Godavari Arch Bridge (with the same name). The article about the Havelock Bridge is completed. I am now working on the Godavari Arch Bridge.

There are a total of 3 bridges

[edit]

If I am right, there are a total of 3 bridges.

1. The oldest one (Havelock bridge)

2. The road cum rail bridge

3. The newest one (with bow string arch girders)

But, the article seems to club no.2 and no.3. If anyone is sure about this, please make the corresponding changes in the article.

Double track?

[edit]

Is the bridge double track or single track? Tabletop 11:41, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sir Arthur Cotton

[edit]

Havelock bridge couldn't have possibly been built by / connected to Sir Arthur Cotton, he died in 1899. Moved from article by Jklamo 19:01, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
