i always thought many americans call the usa "god's own country". but this is not even mentioned here. why not? i 'googled' for "america - god's own country" and found plenty of information.....would you please consider to include just a few of this into wikipedia, for it's a politically explosive question....Scyriacus (talk) 07:46, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Although the NZ govt holds the copyright for Bracken's best know work (God Defend New Zealand) I have been unable to find any copyright claims to God's Own Country. The Victorian Copyright Concil has advised me it has no record of any such copyright still being held. The Copyright Council Of New Zealand is still searching. I will post the words of the poem if their search remains negative. Moriori 08:27, Jan 25, 2004 (UTC)
Please don't. Wikipedia is not a collection of source texts. RickK 08:36, 25 Jan 2004 (UTC)
- OK. Then you have no objection to me deleting the Star Spangled Banner? In the context of the widely used phrase God's Own Country, the words/sentiments of the original poem of that name deserve consideration for publication in wiki IMMHO. Moriori 08:43, Jan 25, 2004 (UTC)
- We seem to have made an exception for national anthems. You could put the text into the Wikisource. RickK 09:33, 25 Jan 2004 (UTC)
- So then is it correct for me to assume that the Star Spangled Banner is only on Wikicource and is not anywhere in Wikipedia???? Mathmo
Nice
... "Just leaving for God's own country," he wrote. He never made it, dying the next day on the ship Oswestry Grange., is one of the most moving sentences I've ever read on Wikipedia. I'll be killing cats if I find out one day that it was copyvio'd. freshofftheufoΓΛĿЌ 16:44, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
What happened to the New Zealand references - I know the Indians would like to have exclusive advertising rights here however: "godzone country" in a Google search will show the high relevance of the New Zealand reference. Could someone please revert the page back to the more detailed version?
Australia
What is the basis of the "notably Australia" in the first paragraph? I've lived in Australia for over 60 years, and I've never encountered God's Own Country and Godzone used for anywhere apart from NZ and the USA. JimBreen 06:33, 20 June 2007 (UTC) Thanks.
Yorkshire
>In the United Kingdom the phrase is used by people from Yorkshire to describe that county, sometimes substituting the word county for country.
What rot, no ever says God's Own County. This is a Yorkshire phrase that must have been co-opted by the Kiwi's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.176.105.40 (talk) 09:38, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
Edited as I agree with this, never heard the word county used either and not mentioned in reference. Kungfukats2 (talk) 19:32, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
I have heard the term "God's Own County"; it's widely used in at least West Yorkshire: "God's Own County" used to redirect to Yorkshire but has now strangely been redirected to this page. The redirect to Yorkshire is still in place but has been overridden by this page's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.16.113.190 (talk) 16:19, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Gods own country.jpg
Image:Gods own country.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Kerala Tourism Department
Some one wrongly classified Kerala Government Tourism Department as Kerala Tourism Development Board. In fact there is no such board, but Kerala Tourism Development Corporation whose logo is File:Http://www.ktdc.com/images/logo.jpg The correction I can vouch for as my father work for the Department
See Kerala State Government Tourism Department Website for more information regarding this. Also I found a public information site on Kerala Gods Own Country —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.184.183.151 (talk) 15:45, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
Original research
C'mon guys, this article is full of original research! The references to results using google books searches -now if that doesn't qualify as original research then I don't know what does. Theodore D (talk) 19:56, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
