Self-supported?

"The webcomic was started on May 8, 2010 exclusively as a self supported web page." -- I have doubts about how accurate this is. The GGaR TVTropes page mentions pressure from advertisers to reduce the comic's nudity, so Chloé must have started receiving funding from advertisers at some point.
