[edit]the article doesn't contradict ITSELF but rather is contradictory with GNU_Savannah: savanah:
In 2004, there was a plan mentioned to move GNU Savannah from the Savane software to GForge, due to a perception that Savane was unmaintained. This was apparently abandoned, as of December 2005 Savannah is still running Savane.
gna:
FSF USA threatened to switch to the GForge software, leaving frayed tempers among the developers, as result of a conflict about Savannah maintainers role.
After reading this random collection of facts I still don't know what Gna is. This article needs a rewrite, or atleast a proper introduction.
- OK, I wrote something as a start for introduction. --Vincent 10:15, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Notability
[edit]There are about ten pages linking to Gna! directly or over the Gna.org redirection, e.g., Freeciv, MyPaint, The Battle for Wesnoth, Warmux, Savane (software), Loïc Dachary, and Eric S. Raymond. In theory Savane (software) could be merged to Gna! (or vice versa), but in practice I don't volunteer to try this. IOW, it's a not very notable historic hoster, but there are enough no-nonsense wikilinks to Gna! to keep the page. I've removed {{stub}}
, added some projects formerly hosted by Gna!, and removed the {{Notability|date=November 2015}}
