Lecithin source

[edit]

What does this article mean by "Alpha GPC is derived from highly purified soy lecithin."? Is AGPC already present in soy lecithin and it is just physically filtered out in salable quantities? Or is there some chemical transformation going on? --Gwern (contribs) 11:56 3 October 2009 (GMT)

Wrong configuration (stereochemistry)

[edit]

According to the Science Finder, Drug Bank and ChEBI the correct CIP-configuration of the stereogenic center is (R) and not (S). Best regards, -- (talk) 05:35, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also according to FDA. I changed it accordingly. --Leyo 18:33, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Storage section does not mention SofGels yet. (Nor glass vs plastic bottles).

Side-effects

[edit]

"An Italian multicentre clinical trial on 2,044 patients suffering from recent stroke were supplied alpha-GPC in doses of 1,000 mg/day for 28 days and 400 mg three times per day for the five ensuing months".

  • So the latter was 3x400mg = 1200mg/day?
  • Were they any serious or non-serious side effects when compared to placebo, if there was placebo?
