Re: candidate to be copied to Wiktionary
[edit]- Oppose - This Glossary is not suitable for Wicktionary:
- This is a collection of water polo-specific terms for reference and use with related encyclopedia articles. If the terms are split up into the mass of general dictionary terms, it will be much more difficult to access and inter-relate the entries. For example, it is useful to have all the various fouls in the same entry, or a description of various caps.
- Many of these terms have a completely different meaning than the normal dictionary definition, and may be confusing for non-water polo users of Wiktionary, and difficult to place in context (ie: "6 on 5", "bat shot", blue ball", etc)
- Oppose. This is a pattern. See Category talk:Glossaries. Rfrisbietalk 03:18, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- I plan to remove the Transwiki tag at the top of the Glossary article within the next few hours, since:
- it hasn't been copied to Wiktionary, despite the notice
- I don't think it is appropriate to tag the Glossary as a candidate for deletion
- Whoever is tagging Glossaries in this way on a wholesale fashion--why don't you tag an article, get comments, get the Transwiki done, and go to the next article. The "hit and run" approach is very irritating. I have enough extra work to do reverting vandals. Ryanjo 14:30, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]This page has been transwikied to Wiktionary. The article has content that is useful at Wiktionary. Therefore the article can be found at either here or here (logs 1 logs 2.) Note: This means that the article has been copied to the Wiktionary Transwiki namespace for evaluation and formatting. It does not mean that the article is in the Wiktionary main namespace, or that it has been removed from Wikipedia's. Furthermore, the Wiktionarians might delete the article from Wiktionary if they do not find it to be appropriate for the Wiktionary. Removing this tag will usually trigger CopyToWiktionaryBot to re-transwiki the entry. This article should have been removed from Category:Copy to Wiktionary and should not be re-added there. |

- The problem with this process, is that all the article links and images are broken during the Transwiki, so the resulting dictionary entry is less comprehensive. There should at least be a link back to this article, so that someone can see the real thing. Ryanjo 04:05, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
