Who founded Glendale, CA?
[edit]I have removed the sentence that says the city of Glendale, California was founded by her great-great grandfather. It never names him, and is a word-for-word copy and paste from the source. This is repeated about her all over the internet, apparently from the same source. As far as I can tell, this is nothing but something floated at the beginning of her career. Other sources say it was her grandfather, but never name him. Unless properly sourced, and the ancestor named, this is just publicity cruft. The first non-native American land owner in the area was José María Verdugo in 1798. Glendale was incorporated in 1906. City of Glendale — Maile (talk) 14:08, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- All right, I found a source that says he was an early white settler in the area and helped plat the area. I've added it. There is no indication he was the sole founder of Glendale. — Maile (talk) 23:44, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
