5/24/2006 - If she is for the people why is she eager to vote NO on Assembly Bill 583, the Clean Money/Fair Elections act which has worked in Arizona and Maine to level the playing field and give women and minorities a more fair shot at running for office and for the constituents to be more fairly represented?

Title swap

[edit]

I made a proposal at Talk:Gloria Romero (legislator)#Swap article and redirect titles* recently to convert the "Gloria J. ..." article to the main article and the "... (legislator)" article (for the time at least) to a redirect, since Romero is no longer a legislator. I'm moving along toward implementation, think I can do it on my own, and thought I'd cover this base here today. Please comment. Thanks. Swliv (talk) 16:06, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Swap done. Still open to comments. Would appreciate alert at my Talk. Thanks. Swliv (talk) 21:10, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
*This, below, was the proposal and closeout at Talk:Gloria Romero (legislature); it seemed nothing other than the Redirect would survive, there:

== Swap article and redirect titles == /

Since Romero is now a former legislator, I'd propose moving the body of the article to Gloria J. Romero. The Gloria J. page is currently a redirect page to the legislator article. Once the swap is made, Gloria Romero (legislator) would be made a redirect page to Gloria J. (or the legislator page could ultimately be deleted; for now, it seems good to keep Wiki links working while not being so misidentifying). I think I can do both steps of the swap on my own but I'll look into the process more later. For now, comments on the idea can be made here. Thanks. Swliv (talk) 18:15, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

The content in this page was moved to Gloria J. Romero (formerly a legislator) on Sep. 8, 2012 and this page was then converted to a Redirect. I had been uncertain about whether to maintain this Redirect long term but have just encountered one good reason to do so, namely, all the history would be lost if this page were deleted. As such, I'd oppose deletion.

If the page were to happen to be converted to another individual of the same name who becomes a legislator -- so the Redirect is dropped -- that's not so bad. The history would survive; and there's a dab page and a record at Gloria J. of the content-move. Thanks. Swliv (talk) 21:25, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Another round

[edit]

After executing the "swap" I came upon an editor who'd been involved in the naming issue for a long time and alerted the ed. to what I'd done. The ed. responded there. I'm working there primarily but will say one issue is that there is no direct confirmation of the "J." middle initial anywhere but Balletopedia and that doesn't count as a good source. If no good source is found, the swap may well be reversed. It may be reversed anyway but a source for the initial would help anyway. Help appreciated. Check there for more. Thanks. As apparent, page renamed ("moved"). Not sure whole story told here, including links, but hope it's adequately clear. Cheers. Swliv (talk) 18:56, 14 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
