Hello, thank you for this warning, I assure you that the Global Battle of the Bands is a worldwide event evidenced by many youtube videos of the event itself from around the world. If you may allow me to let you see these links which serve as references for the competiton; unfortunately, I believe you do not allow youtube links on the site itself, so I am not sure how to use these visual documentation of the competition as credible references. Please advice Chacha 1984 (talk) 03:52, 15 May 2011 (UTC) Chacha 1984
Re. your advice for clean-up, I have editted our choice of words. I am also adding more links of press releases from different countries about this competition. Please advice further what need to be done. Chacha 1984 (talk) 03:56, 15 May 2011 (UTC) Chacha 1984
Changes required
[edit]The article needs to be in past tense, not future tense. It's not clear from the introductory paragraph that this is something that has happened several times; because it's in future tense, it sounds like something that hasn't happened yet (and might not happen).
The article needs numbers of participants, not numbers of countries. Simply stating that "30 countries took part" is misleading, because it implies that the governments had something to do with the event. Instead, give the number of national qualifying events, and/or "bands from XX countries." Some of the countries in the list aren't countries; those should be grouped under the actual sovereign country. If there was a separate Isle of Man qualifier, the article can say that.
Stating a number of countries without numbers of bands makes it look like you're trying to hide something. The article will be more interesting if there is information about how the competition is distributed globally and how it has changed over time. Roches (talk) 16:27, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
