Contested Deletion
[edit]It's interesting how this page has been flagged many times in the past 5 years and every time it is created people would request deletion. There's no doubt that GARP meets all criteria of WP:Notability. It is currently the largest risk management professional organization and the most recognized. It has over 250,000 membership and its revenue/expenses are in the millions USD which definitely crossed every threshold of a non-profit organization to be "notable". It wouldn't be incorrect to call it "global" or "recognized" but I have removed those wordings regardless. I am not affiliated with the organization and I'm a CFA candidate, not FRM. However, I find the standards are very inconsistent and I find that this page attract the most scrutiny from editors/admin, which makes me wonder whether some of these users could be from competitive professional organizations. This makes sense. As I mentioned, it is the largest risk management professional organization after all.
With that being said, and as a seasoned Wikipedia editor, I have cited this article entirely with primary sources. This took a lot of work and a long time to do. There are absolutely no promotional languages and I've cited the financials using audited financial statements audited by an accounting firm, which gave its unqualified audit opinion. If you do not understand what this means, just know that annual reports are reliable, neutral and fact-checked by auditors (CPAs) who know financial statements inside and out.
This article is here to stay. If you have any disagreement in its language, or notability, you need to discuss here. This article does NOT fit in the speedy deletion criteria and if I see it tagged again I would have doubts that the user may be politically biased and I might consider reporting that person for abusing privileges. Please ask me if you have any questions. I'm more than happy to help you understand risk management or finance, but you need to be willing to communicate.
