Interesting to see the IT experts at Fife Council have been trying to prove that Wikipedia pages are a bad thing compared to the official Council website. I created this page when I became a teacher at this school and used the template from a previous school, after discussing it with the then head teacher. The current head teacher asked me recently:

I understand that you run/update this site but anyone can get access to write on it. I am in the process of relaunching the official school website and wouldn't want there to be any confusion over which is which. Can you close the Wikipedia site down?

which has lead to some ill-informed discussion about what this site is. I think the IT experts at the Council are still trying to figure it out. I am expecting to be asked to delete the page again, in which case I'll be following the Wikipedia procedure.

Please don't shut the page down. I think at the moment it seems like it is competing with the school's official website in the information it is providing. Given Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia the article should be reformatted sticking to providing basic information on the school's history, what facilities it has and what unique traditions it has. The link to the official school site should then be provided if people want more detail on the school.

Just to jump in: as long as it can be established that the school is notable, and that there is nothing in violation of any Wikipedia policy here, there is little chance this article will be deleted, per Wikipedia not being a censored site.
Having said that, if staff or students (especially) are editing this article, they must be very careful to maintain a neutral point of view. One of the best ways to do this is to refrain from making additions that cannot be supported by reliable source, which should be included in the editing. Best of luck to all editors! I was reverting vandalism and I ended up reverting the correct page back to the vandalism, we must've clicked at the same time or something, but I apologize for the mistake GameEnd (talk) 21:47, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
