Removal of Autobiography template

[edit]

@W.carter: I am new to Wikipedia. I am not Glenn Ivey, a member of his family, nor do I even know him. When I saw that my Congressional Representitive was not running for reelection, I tried to look up in Wikipedia some of the candidates seeking to replace her. When I saw that there was no article, I thought it would be an appropriate article to write (to learn how to create on Wikipedia). Glenn Ivey is a well-known public figure, elected twice county-wide. I Googled Glenn Ivey, and used the sources and articles I found on the internet. I wrote what I thought was (and is) a straight-forward factual article based on the sources I found online, and cited each of my sources in the footnotes. The description of his brother being "a successful attorney" was from an article I cited (footnote 31). The question "according to whom?" is answered in the footnote. Likewise, the other "according to whom?" is answered in the footnote at the end of the sentence (and by the fact that he was reelected). Nevertheless, I have removed the word "successfully." I am asking you to remove the "Autobiography" tag from the top of the article, because it is not accurate.

This is my first effort writing in Wikipedia, and I am surprised at the tone of the reaction and comments so far. Jw sheridan (talk) 18:12, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
