Gleadless Valley district

[edit]

Just found this reference [1] which is a good source for info on the woodlands in the area. Will try and find references for the built-up bits as well, and write something up. --VinceBowdren 23:35, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The book Sheffield: Enmerging City is an excellent source for the Gleadless Valley which include construction photographs, plans and history of the project. Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons 07:06, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Herdings district

[edit]

I'm sure Herdings has some great views, but it's not even close to being the highest point in Sheffield. It is true that there turn out to be surprisingly few areas of this notoriously hilly city above the 200m contour line, and that the area around Herdings is indeed one of these:

But if you pan around, especially to the north-west, you will find areas rising to 250m and more. Look a little more closely at Fulwood and Lodge Moor:

Postcode

[edit]

I have checked specifically the postcodes, see Newfield Green Library, Gleadless Valley Housing Office and Coop which are on the estate (Sheffield, Emerging City, 1969, Sheffield City Council. ISBN 0-901656-01-1). Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons 08:56, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
