Problems, inaccuracies etc

[edit]

- Hexafluorisilicic acid does not etch glass. It is a product of dissolving glass (SiO2) by hydrofluoric acid - hydroelectric acid does not exist, it's a complete gibberish - the entire section about the acid etching should be removed and rewritten

- Leptat glass process is a trademark of CSS, and in this context this is apparently hidden advertising and should be removed. There is no information whatsoever about the process, and the trademark information clearly states that it's an acid etch process. The link to reference 1 (leptat glass) does not work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.140.36.176 (talk) 22:29, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Further editing and expansion needed

[edit]

The end paragraph was removed; it was pretty bad. Spelling mistakes, lack of formatting and punctuation, a smattering of gibberish... which basically rendered it useless and not very understandable.

The rest of the article has a slightly jumbled feel, could just be me. For example, historical bits come in the same heading as techniques. It'd be much better after expansion and splitting into 2 sections.

If someone has some knowledge about this, please fix! (I have none, except for correcting the chemical name/formula.)

[edit]

I am a beginner of Wikipedia. This is why I ask the authorisation to this task force before adding a link to the article. I saw there are two links in the paragraph "Related Articles" about companies producing etched glasses, but there is not any link about manufacturers of glass etching cream (for example). I know a professional producer and supplier of glass etching cream. This is why I ask you the authorisation to add his link in the paragraph "Related Articles". I think it would be more relevant this information than linking two of the hundreds worldwide companies producing eteched glasses. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Massimiliano79 (talkcontribs) 17:01, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to write the article "Glass etching cream"

[edit]

I saw in the article that nobody wrote about "Glass etching cream". I have a good know-how in this subject, so I ask to this task force the authorisation to write the article about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Massimiliano79 (talkcontribs) 17:04, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

'Cut glass' inappropriately redirects here

[edit]

"Cut glass" is not the same as glass etching. Cut glass, including kiriko, produces glass which have a faceted surface such as a cut jewel might have. Someone should fix that redirect. — al-Shimoni (talk) 23:24, 23 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stub to Start

[edit]

Article was moved from Stub to Start status because it has a significant amount of information and multiple references. In addition, the main article has not had a Stub tag for some time. Araesmojo (talk) 20:37, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
