Hey, can somebody look up for a map? Would make the descriptions clearer. Circeus 16:40, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Bridge to Nowhere is invisible

[edit]

Where or what exactly is the Bridge to Nowhere in the image purportedly showing the Bridge to Nowhere. It is not clear at all. Moriori 20:41, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As the caption in the article explains, an office block has been built on top of it. You can see underneath the office block a big concrete slab supported by pillars. I assume this is the bridge, and the ramp at the side has been replaced by the building. There's another bridge in the background but that goes somewhere and has cars on it. I agree it's not the clearest image. It would be great to have an older photo showing the bridge terminating in mid-air, if that's how it used to appear. 86.136.1.31 22:24, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The bridge literally went nowhere, the part with the two storey office block on top is all there actually was, no stairs, no swirly ramps, no railings, nothing. Fraslet 22:29, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Tks to you both for your responses. The caption really needs to explain just what you guys have explained here, otherwise it will remain a visual riddle. Moriori 22:40, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You have a fair point actually, I can see it immediately as I can remember what it looked like before the office block was built on top of it, it still looks a bit precarious. Fraslet 22:45, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

(un-indenting) If I understand Fraslet correctly, only the part directly over the road constituted the original bridge. I have updated the caption to say this. — Kimchi.sg | Talk 01:26, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To editors... please don't wikilink "Bridge to Nowhere" for now, that page is just a disambiguation page. There is no article on the Bridge to Nowhere discussed in this article at this time. — Kimchi.sg | Talk 01:09, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The ski jump

[edit]

It would be nice if someone has a picture of the "ski jump" to include. The mention of it reminds me of the bus leaping over a gap in a half-completed expressway bridge in Speed. And I'm really curious to see it. Unfortunately I'm half the world away otherwise the first thing I'd ave done is to go right there and take a photo. :-(

Also, why do the new plans for the East Flank call for the new intersection to be just a distance away from the ski jump, leaving it untouched? Has it become some sort of infamous landmark? — Kimchi.sg | Talk 01:09, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
