Gladiators events
[edit]Alright, I think I'm going to have a good look at the events section because some of the content isn't correct. RaNdOm26 12:08, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with you RaNdOm26, there are some section with little/no detail for point scoring, I think I'll add that in, but please, correct me if I buggered something up. This is my favorite show by far, and I want this to look right. <NOt wat i am looking for small>—Preceding unsigned comment added by The-elementalist (talk • contribs) 08:12, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- Awesome, another fan of Gladiators! I can also expand further on the events if I have the time. I am a huge fan of the old series and I'm so thrilled that the show is returning. RaNdOm26 11:41, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
International Competitions
[edit]Since we have an events section, I think it'll be worth while putting in information about our International competitions, such as The Ashes and when we competed in International Gladiators. I'll start it off, but I think we'll need more info from anyone who has it --The-elementalist 02:02, 20 October 2007 (UTC) Don't forget there was also the Russian International series - information can also be found at the official Gladiators website. There, it says "As well as the three domestic Australian Gladiators shows and The Ashes, a three-part special series against Russia was also filmed in The Brisbane Entertainment Centre." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.100.149.111 (talk) 09:24, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Announcers
[edit]At the moment Aaron Pederson is listed as being co-host in 95, with Mike Hammond taking over for 96-97. I think you'll find it's the other way around actually. Mike Hammond was first & then left to become the face of Foxtel, with Aaron Pederson taking over - Dizrythmia
Unconfirmed events
[edit]Moved Skytrak here. Has not been confirmed or played at the tapings yet. --Lakeyboy (talk) 01:13, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Skytrak was a new event for the 3rd series along with Joust. Proof for this can be seen at the Gladiators Zone page for Skytrak. RaNdOm26 (talk) 07:56, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh really, I never remember seeing it on the old series, but i'll take yours and Gladiators Zone word for it. I knew it was an event in the UK series but I thought it was a new event for this year. I'm guessing you're following the aussie thread in the forums too? :) --Lakeyboy (talk) 06:52, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm keeping a close track of the forum over there; but I now have a problem as the site has today blocked reading from guests, and I'm not a member... strange. RaNdOm26 (talk) 11:21, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
I got that too. I've now registered an account on their forums. Maybe they had to cut back on bandwidth due to the increase of people reading the forums? There is also a good thread over at Media Spy. --Lakeyboy (talk) 07:45, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
Skytrak
[edit]Two challengers and two gladiators compete in this event, which was a race around an eight-figured track suspended from the ceiling. Both competitors and gladiators competed upside down. The contestants got a small head start and the Gladiators would have to hit a buzzer trailing behind the contestant in order to eliminate them.
Article name
[edit]As far as I'm aware, the show was never actually referred to as "Gladiators Australia" (contrast with the American show which was actually called "American Gladiators"). I'm wondering whether a better name for the article might be "Gladiators (Australian TV series)" or "Gladiators (Australian game show)" or "Gladiators (Australian TV show)" (similar to Gladiators (British TV show)) or something like that. Thoughts? DH85868993 (talk) 13:56, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Agree, the show has always been referred to as "Gladiators". I would like to suggest moving to Gladiators (Australian TV series). I really don't like using "Gladiators (Australian game show)" because it seems strange to call this a game show. RaNdOm26 (talk) 15:52, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- OK, I've moved it to Gladiators (Australian TV series) as suggested. DH85868993 (talk) 09:19, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Split Article into 2
[edit]I have a suggestion, how about splitting this article to create one for the original series and one for the current series. Much similar to the American Gladiators and British Gladiators articles. Example keep the Gladiators (Australian TV series) for the original series and create Gladiators (2008 Australian TV series) for the current revival series so it can mirror the American Gladiators (original) and American Gladiators (2008 TV series) (revival) articles and Gladiators (UK TV series) (original) and Gladiators (2008 UK TV series) (revival) articles. Do any of you agree with the idea? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.108.165.60 (talk) 16:10, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
I agree. However, how are we going to do that, listing the events, contests and scoring results? 58.172.221.66 (talk) 11:01, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- If we are really going to split this article, we need to organise and prepare everything beforehand - both the original and the new series articles. RaNdOm26 (talk) 12:00, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- The article was becoming very large and unwieldy, so I've decided to take the initiative to split the article into two. Events relevant to each series in particular are listed, and I've moved over the results and table from the new series over to the new article, as well as the bulk of the Revival section, which I've put under a Development heading. Mens and womens brackets
[edit]I think the mens and womens brackets are incomplete. There are 32 contestants this season, 16 for each gender, but theres only 12 spaces.Baggers89 (talk) 04:41, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Cheerleaders
[edit]I know that the 2008 cheerleading squad are the "Sydney Altitude". Should we add them in like the G-Force in UK? Also, apparently there were cheerleaders in the 1995-97 version called "The Kix".
