Single?

[edit]

There has been some confusion over the release status of the song recently, and I'm just wondering what the consensus is: single, promotional single, or just album track with a video? A lot of that has to do with miscommunication from Lavigne and her label. Initially, it was announced through Lavigne's social media accounts that "Hello Kitty" would be released to Asia and "Give You What You Like" would be simultaneously released to other markets, but this dual release was eventually dropped without explanation. I can appreciate not calling it an official single due to it lacking a physical or (standalone) digital release and no official add date to radio (though it has been played, at least in Canada). The argument given by an editor who changed the infobox to song is flimsy, though, in my opinion, as the site provided doesn't list "Fall to Pieces", "Mobile", "Hot", or "Hello Kitty" in the 'singles & EPs' section either despite those being declared singles here. So... thoughts? Songsteel (talk) 18:53, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's a single. On Avril's instagram: instagram.com/avrillavigne she said "New single Give You What You Like out now"183.178.204.138 (talk) 12:48, 17 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. If it has been released to radio, then it is a single. "Dark Horse" was planned to be a solemn promotional single, but due to the airplay, it was changed to a single.

So yes, I think it is necessary to consider this a single. Smarty9108, (Discuss with me) 23:23, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Release date

[edit]

The Music video for the song was released in February, at that time it does not confirm the track's status as a single, it could signify it as a promotional single or just a song with a music video which is common. I am NOT disagreeing that "Give You What You Like" is not a single and I am saying that the radio release should be the release date. I am changing the release date anyways.
