Lead section

[edit]

Few minor grammatical mistakes I corrected myself. But needs to contain some brief information about the accompanying music video. I suggest observing the lead section of some other GA status song article to see how to do this.

  •  Done, since I couldn't find that much detail on the video online I couldn't get too in-depth in the intro, but hopefully my additions will suffice.

Background and Composition

[edit]

1) "Give It Up to Me" was written by Shakira, Amanda Ghost, Lil Wayne, and Timbaland, and was produced by the latter." - This needs a better citation rather than a link to another Wikipedia page. I think you can use this as a citation here- http://www.allmusic.com/song/give-it-up-to-me-mt0020447689

  •  Done

2) " It additionally displays sexually-suggestive lyrics, most prominently seen as Shakira sings the line "anything you want you can make it yours" in the chorus.[7]"- That line doesn't seem so prominently suggestive. I checked on the referenced site and even they don't mention the line to be the "most prominent" suggestive line in the song. I think you can remove the "most prominent" part and add some more examples of suggestive lines.

  •  Done

-Now that's a suggestive line! --WonderBoy1998 (talk) 17:08, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Critical reception

[edit]

No problems. Although the part " However, an editor from The New York Times provided an underwhelming review of the track, encouraging listeners not to become "distracted" by its collaborations" needs to be re written as it's an odd and unclear sentence. Plus your reference doesn't mention that the "collaborations" are distracting.

  •  Done

Commercial Performance

[edit]

No probs.

Music Video and Promotion

[edit]

This section needs work. 1) Very minimal information about the music video- You need to mention details like the director of the video and how the video developed. 2) Synopsis/ Description- What happens in the video? You need to put some text and describe what happens in the video. 3) Add some more reviews of the music video. For this section, I again suggest looking at some other GA class song articles for reference and help with structure and all. :)

  •  Done, though for some reason it was very difficult finding review for the video. That's the only reason I used the Neon Limelight review, that definitely wouldn't be my go-to site.

Thank you for your time in reviewing this article, I appreciate it! I'll make the corrections you noted, and let you know when they are all addressed. Regards, WikiRedactor (talk) 17:36, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Okay just saw all of it, and it's exactly what we needed for this article. Satisfies the criteria. I pass it :) Great work! Also, if you're still making changes to the article, go ahead, but as far as I see it's good now. --WonderBoy1998 (talk) 17:08, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
