Actually, the etymology given for Mastro Titta seems very fanciful. "Mastro" was a common vocative at the time for a master craftsman (compare with Mastro Geppetto, Pinocchio's "father", who was a master woodworker), and "Titta" is a common shortening of "Battista". 79.41.248.107 (talk) 17:11, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
