[edit]The section on his football career makes no sense, if someone with the proper information could edit it.--Freshko 16:53, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

AC Milan
[edit]It is hard to find a source, but he played in a friendly in December 1993 for Milan.[1], but yet to find which official match he played. Matthew_hk tc 08:43, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
name
[edit]Giovane Élber de Souza or Élber Giovane de Souza? seems "Giovane" is a middle name for Jr./younger meaning. And CBF also the latter. But the common name is ok. Matthew_hk tc 08:49, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- Giovane is not a middle name, it's just his nickname in germanized pseudo-Italian, coming from il giòvane Elber, his original Italian nickname ("the young Elber") – as the article correctly states at the end. [Giovāne and giòvane are also pronounced differently, by the way.] It's not a Brazilian nickname, as it is usually the case with Brazilian players. His real name is just Élber de Souza. So Giovane has absolutely no place as part of his real name, e.g. as Élber Giovane de Souza. If at all, it should be "Giovane" Élber de Souza at the beginning of the article and in the info box. But the correct thing would be something like: Élber de Souza, mostly known as Giovane Élber or simply Élber ……… and "Élber Giovane" as the title of the article is completely laughable… it has to be Giovane Élber, because that's the public name under which he became popular, after transferring to Stuttgart, and played for most of his career. Just because a French website called "Sambafoot" lists him as "Élber Giovane de Souza" doesn't mean it's correct. 85.178.248.227 (talk) 11:50, 31 May 2013 (UTC)
Added templates
[edit]The tone of the article is more suitable to a fan site, and it lacks sources. I don't know enough about him to add a whole lot at this stage; if anyone has something to add, please feel free to do so. Cyril Washbrook (talk) 13:47, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
