Move?

No consensus to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 22:30, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Content was split to a secondary disambiguation page, with no primary topic for the original page. Content of both pages should be merged to Gino, and cleaned up per MOS:DAB. Fortdj33 (talk) 15:02, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- Object this is a merge request. 65.93.14.29 (talk) 22:35, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- Speedy procedural close this is not a requested move, this is a merge request. Further, all the edit history is at Gino (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) 65.93.14.29 (talk) 23:36, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
- Object - Gino (given name) is not a DAB it is a Name article covered by the Anthroponymy WikiProject as per their standards: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Anthroponymy/Standards. The article does not have a DAB template and this talk page does not have DAB Talkpage Template (just look at the top of this page). There are 42 names in this current document you DO NOT want 42 names cluttering up the DAB which is the entire point of having the names in a Name article. It would be a crime to merge these. --Hutcher (talk) 00:33, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- Object, per Hutcher. Would also point out that just because "Gino" appears in a title, does not mean that it is appropriate for a disambiguation page. Looking at All pages with titles containing Gino, there are hundreds of such articles. Disambiguation pages are only supposed to be aids in navigation for cases where there might be confusion as to which page something like Gino might most appropriately link to: It's not for listing every single page with Gino in the title. --Elonka 03:54, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Pronunciation
[edit]I've just removed the pronunciation info from the page. I was at first alarmed by the use ... misuse of {{IPAc-en}} which is for English words/names but this is an Italian name (okay, if we're giving the Anglicised pronunciation, that's fine but say so). I was going to try fix this but I looked a bit harder and noticed that the transcription was a little odd. Where I'd expect IPA characters I found underscores: {{IPAc-en|ˌ|dʒ|_|ˌ|n|_|ˈ|ɵ}}
. This can't be right. Has anyone got a source as to the actual pronunciation (Anglicised and/or original) handy? JIMp talk·cont 14:52, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
