Thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately I have to fail your nomination of this article for Good Article status. The major reason is due to a lack of references. The Early History and Mill pond and watermill section are completely unreferenced. Wikipedia relies on verifiability and we need sources to support information added. Some other advice before you renominate is:
- I would recommend not bolding the alternative names for Gimingham, only the first instance in the opening sentence needs to be.
- The lead contains a lot of information about the location, but doesn't summarise the article. You could add a location section and put in all the roads, nearest towns etc, but it is probably a bit heavy for the lead (one sentence describing where it is should suffice). It would be more interesting to summarise the history and features.
- The prose could be made to flow a bit more. It consists of short choppy sentences in places. If prose is not your strong point you may want to enlist the help of someone from the here.
- Is there any room for expansion. With such a small town I do not think it needs much information, but maybe more on history, demographics (how many people live there etc). This should be relatively easy to source. See Hebden, North Yorkshire for a similarly small town which is a good article.
Keep at it, this is a good start. AIRcorn (talk) 02:18, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
