Mahavishnu Project
[edit]I don't understand what the reference to the Mahavishnu Project is about (perhaps because Wikipedia doesn't have an article on them as distinct from Mahavishnu Orchestra, and the Mahavishnu Project isn't mentioned in the Orchestra's article to which it redirects). The Mahavishnu Orchestra was named for and led by "Mahavishnu" John McLaughlin, and he is still alive and performing albeit not with the Orchestra or the Project. The article doesn't clearly explain what the Project's relationship to McLaughlin is. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 17:32, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
Multiple issues
[edit]I added a multiple issues template because the vast majority of statements in this article are unsourced, and since most have some level of subjectivity this suggests a good deal of WP:OR in the article. The "Authorization", "Connotation", and "Popular music" sections are completely unsourced, despite making some potentially contentious statements like "The phrase 'Ghost Band' is sometimes viewed as an underhanded way...of saying that the ensemble is not the 'real McCoy'." I also think the examples section is too long and has next to no sourcing. A small number of well-sourced examples would make the article far more convincing. The concept of a "ghost band" does seem to have some recognition, but this article says an awful lot for the extremely minimal level of sourcing. Major cleanup needed.
