Indian Sunset

[edit]

This song samples Elton John, though who is the person actually singing Indian Sunset? Has the sample been filtered, and is actually Elton himself singing? It doesn't sound like him! Despina

Yes it is him, sampled of course. I don't know Elton John' music enough to judge if it sounds like him or not, but I do know tupac, and it can tell you the tupac 'voice' on that track sounds nothing like him. Try listening to that song with headphones, you'll hear all sort of dreadful things (like the pitch changing suddenly, words being cut and pasted, etc). Disgraceful. It's definitely Elton John. I think you may be confused by the fact that his voice has changed quite a lot since the start of his career back in the 70's.

"also 60% of the original lyrics were not used in the song"

[edit]

I'm a little confused. Does this mean there's a version that was recorded/written before 2Pac's death? If so, that should probably be mentioned, shouldn't it?--Donbert 02:14, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously 2Pac's vocals had to be recorded before his death, so this statement is (clearly, I think) saying that 60% of the vocals he recorded with the samples included in "Ghetto Gospel" were not included in this mix of the song. --Stellis 08:14, 18 June 2006

I have heard both versions, the OG and the Em produced one. They sound nothing alike. One is a fast song with pac fast rapping on it and the em produced one is slow, with vocals cut and pasted terribly. He put a disgraceful elton john sample in the song and slowed pac's verses to the point where it wasn't even sounding like him. It was popping and changing pitch all throughout the song and 3 Verses from the song were cut, including his chorus, which only is in the Em Produced Version once as the Intro to the song. Em wanted to make his voice go over one of his nursery rhyme, marching band beats. Eminem distorted his voice so he could make money. Just Tah Let U Know 12:52, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Is that the Akon remix? Its much faster. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.49.218.244 (talk) 04:13, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Original Track

[edit]

Is there any way to hear the original, unaltered vocals in their entirety? Anonymous 02:12, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Yes there is. There are unreleased original versions all over the internet that are A LOT better quality then The Eminem produced one. Angelocasio 12:44, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

i would like to add that it is confirmed by senior collectors of 2pac music that there is in fact a 2nd original version containing only 2 verses by tupac and other verses by an individual named only as 'jessie'. it is most likely(and can be heard from leaked clips) that the verses used by 'jessie' are the two last verses that are rapped by 2pac in the 4 verse solo original (accompanied by ad-libs from tupac himself). so to conclude, it is widely accepted by 'die hard fans' that there are in fact 2 seperate ghetto gospel recordings using the same instrumental. one containing 2 tupac verses and one containing 4 tupac verses. this may go some way in explaining the vocal difference with the leaked original, although it is still highly evident that eminem altered the pitch an tone of his voice to some degree. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.142.103.159 (talk) 23:28, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have the original, downloaded off limewire, but would love to know what album it's off. --203.171.196.162 (talk) 12:38, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the sentences in this article don't make a whole lot of sense. I'm going to alter/remove them, but if anyone finds an omission or something that is incorrect, please fix it for me. --Stellis 21:44, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Makes sense now, mostly, but the last sentence is weird: to quell... what? Tobycek 23:32, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was also number one in irish singles chart according to this page [1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by The Blizzard King (talkcontribs) 00:33, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Weasel Words

[edit]

This article uses a lot of weasel words in explaining Eminem's mix of the song. Probably needs a rewrite, or just remove the weasel parts -- this article is significantly longer than comparable Tupac song pages. Dsav (talk) 07:38, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Single's release date

[edit]

Does the AllMusic source refer to the single, or to the album? Is it April 25, 2005 for sure? Yanivshn (talk) 18:50, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
