Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej's birth
[edit]I have information that president Gheorghe Gheorghiu was born in Barlad but not in a hospital (neither this wiki article or any source I've seen states that he was born in a hospital). His mother Ana lived in Cartierul Podeni but was walking along Trotusi street (Trotusi is a street in Barlad in Cartierul Posta) on her way to work (the family was poor and thus she also had to work for the family) when she suddenly got birth pangs and immediately had to give birth. She gave birth in someone's home on Trotusi street. After Gheorghiu became president, he had that property converted into a museum with pictures of himself there, et cetera, and a local park on Boulevardul Republicii was renamed after him. In that part of Posta there are three streets running parellel one after another: Boulevardul Republicii; next south of that Trotusi; next south of that strada Lirei. I received the information from a person who was born and raised on strada Lirei, decades after Gheorghiu. If we corroborate the information I think some of it should be in the article. - I cannot comment on any of the above. But I have a question about the birth date. Since Romania was still using the Julian calendar at that time, which calendar is being used when we say "8 November 1901"? If Julian, then its Gregorian equivalent would be 21 November 1901. If it's already been converted to Gregorian, then its original Julian version was 26 October 1901. Anyone know? -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 06:47, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Source for pulling a gun on King Michael
[edit]That statement appears nowhere in or near the cited source (Khruschev's memoir, page 701, linked in the footnotes). And anyway, why would we need that story from Hoxha, and not from a better source (even if it was included, we would need to mention whether King Michael ever mentioned the story, how quickly he left, etc.). The cited source DOES say that according to Khruschev, Dej told him (K) that he told King Michael he could take anything he wanted, but had to leave (despite King M being on relatively good terms with the Soviets). Anyway, it needs some research/editing over my head. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:3:8082:9670:2C65:7632:2F3E:E048 (talk) 16:05, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
There is an RfC on the question of using "Religion: None" vs. "Religion: None (atheist)" in the infobox on this and other similar pages.
The RfC is at Template talk:Infobox person#RfC: Religion infobox entries for individuals that have no religion.
Please help us determine consensus on this issue. --Guy Macon (talk) 21:07, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
