Veteran?

I don't see how she qualifies as a veteran; how was she any different from a Virginian bank clerk or a Virginian typist? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.0.23.176 (talk) 13:09, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As far as my understanding of the term goes, Noone is a non-combat veteran in that she was in the military and worked in a supporting role. A military person doesn't necessarily have to be in combat to be a veteran. My maternal grandfather never left the base during WWII (he taught soldiers to drive tanks) and was still considered a veteran. Asarelah (talk) 13:50, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
