I am the great-grandson of Gerrit de Jong Jr. The idea that he began his musical career in a religious setting is nonsense. He was given a piano as a birthday gift before he had ever heard of the LDS church. He converted in his teens after emigrating to Salt Lake City from Amsterdam, when he was already proficient at music.
I would appreciate it if the LDS members didn't invent history at the expense of truth in an effort to promote their sect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by V3r8x8 (talk • contribs) 05:31, 20 May 2009
